Our Story
materials matter.
Every grip sock brand says "performance." Then you flip the sock over and it's a bunch of little silicone hearts glued to the bottom. Cute? Sure. Functional on a moving reformer carriage? Not even close.
Footwrk was designed by instructors who got tired of recommending socks they didn't actually trust. So we started from scratch — not with what looks good in a flat lay, but with what actually holds when you're deep in footwork on the reformer.
Here's what goes into every pair.
01
Thread Traction — Not Glued-On Grips
Most grip socks use silicone dots or shapes that are heat-pressed or glued onto the fabric. They peel off after a few washes. They slip on reformer platforms. They look worn before you've broken them in. Our grip is woven directly into the thread — integrated into the sock itself, not stuck on top of it. It grips on the outside where your foot meets the equipment, and on the inside where the sock meets your skin. No peeling, no sliding, no replacement cycle.
02
Silver Ion Cotton Blend
Our cotton blend is infused with silver ions — naturally antimicrobial, odor-resistant, and gentler on your skin than synthetic alternatives. Silver ions eliminate bacteria on contact, so your socks stay fresh class after class without harsh chemical treatments. Better for your skin. Better for the environment. Better than whatever polyester-nylon situation is sitting in your studio bag right now.
03
Compression Arch Support
Targeted compression around the arch keeps the sock locked in place and supports your foot through every teaser, pike, and plank. No bunching. No slipping down mid-class. No readjusting between exercises. The sock moves with you — not against you.
04
Grip on the Inside, Too
Here's something no one else is doing: interior grip. Most socks only grip the floor. Ours grip your foot too. The inside texture keeps the sock from shifting against your skin, so you get a locked-in feel from the first rep to the last without that annoying sock-twist mid-class.
05
Designed by Instructors
Footwrk wasn't designed in a boardroom. It was designed on the reformer, at the barre, and on the mat — by instructors who teach 15+ classes a week and actually know what holds up and what doesn't. Every detail was tested in real studios, on real equipment, during real classes. Not in a lab. Not in a focus group.
your feet deserve better than glued-on hearts and recycled designs.
